Questions Asked

After my last post, those of you who only keep up with me thru this website may be asking yourself "What the hell is he doing in a welding shop?!" Well, allow me to provide an answer:

I have a new job.

Yes, the folks at that-which-was-once-Dominion-E-and-P were paying me well, but as many of the actual IT department employees were getting job offers to go to the new company, the contractors, such as myself, were being offered only the oppurtunity to apply for a position within. In truth, I felt a bit slighted by the less than eager approach NewCo took in pursuing me for employment. When this new oppurtunity came, it took little coaxing for me to jump at it. My former coworkers were not happy to see me leave, but happy I had a job. I plan to keep in touch with many, many of them, wether they want me to or not.

My new job is with Acute Technological Services, a welding company whom you can read more about here. My old friend Johnny works there as they're woman Friday, and I hope to take the IT portion of the load off of her back as the one man IT department. They're on the west side of town, which is more of drive, but hey, it's a both step up and a stable job with a company that'll be here for more than a year (I hope).

I will in all likelyhood NOT have to do any actual welding.
